In her address to the Media, the MCE said that the initiative formed part of efforts to address the many challenges that confront both the educational and health sectors in the Municipality and to ensure that government’s targets are met within a short period.
She further stated that prior to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, management of the various schools had difficulties in admitting the teeming number of children of school-going age in the Municipality, hence the need for the construction of the three and two-story buildings at both the Flag House Basic Schools and Kanda Cluster of schools. Disclosing the source of the funding,
Hajia Salma revealed that the projects were partly funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GET-FUND) and the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF). The Director of Health of Ayawaso East Municipal Assembly - Dr. Farida Abdalai expressed delight for the project. She stated that in spite of the numerous challenges that they were confronted with especially during the COVID-19 outbreak, the project has finally been completed.
She said, the completion of the project would enhance revenue generation so as to support the Assembly in the maintenance of the facility. She further promised to put the facility into good use since it will go a long way to help solve the health issues of the people
