Employ my indigenes: DCE urges as Mensin Gold Bibiani Limited engages staff of Atwima Mponua
A team from Mensin Gold Bibiani Limited (MGBL) on May 19, 2023 paid a courtesy call on the District Chief Executive and some staff of the Assembly to brief them on the progress made on road construction and relocation of some communities.

Addressing the staff, Mr. Samuel Takyi mentioned that, his organization has compensated all affected farmers and resettlement arrangements are also ongoing.
He added that, due to the inconvenience created by the construction, buses are made available every day to transport students and farmers to schools and farms respectively.
In addition, the operation’s manager noted that, the benefits of their operations include socio-economic development in the communities, the region and the country through the payment of taxes; whilst the road constructions will link unplanned areas to the main highway which will boost economic activities.
The roads under construction include Antwiagyei Nkwanta through to Mentukwa to Ahyiresu (17.5km), Abofrem to Bibiani Old Town (10.5 km) and Degede to Lineso (12.5 km).
Lawyer Emmanuel Addo, the Sustainability Manager noted that, his organization is not reneging on their Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and gave statistics on the number of people employed who are indigenes of Mponua.
He also hinted that, in the construction of these road networks, all labor are hired from Mponua.
He added that, MGBL has erected new power lines from Abofrem through to Bibiani which will soon be added to the national grid.
Furthermore, he gave assurances that, the project is complying with all relevant laws and regulations and also mining engineering mitigation and monitoring measures are in place to minimize negative impacts.
Bringing his submission to an end, the Sustainability Manager thanked Isaac Asiamah (MP) and the (DCE), Isaac Kofi Marfo for leading the negotiations at all levels for smooth progress of work.
Isaac Kofi Marfo on his part pleaded for more jobs for his constituents. He mentioned that, MGBL has major of its operational areas in Mponua, hence the need to get jobs for his constituents.
He also mentioned that, the company must engage the communities regularly and address their concerns for sustainability so to create a convivial working environment for all parties.
Present at the meeting were some heads of Departments, Nana Nima Akowuah of Nyinahin Traditional Council, Mr. Bismark Obuobi, Rep for the Member of Parliament and Mr. Charles Acheampong, Mines Manager for MGBL.
