The event, held yesterday, celebrated individuals and groups whose dedication and commitment significantly contributed to environmental cleanliness and the promotion of public health within the municipality. Addressing participants at the ceremony, the MCE expressed his heartfelt appreciation to all stakeholders who supported the initiative, including staff of the Municipal Assembly, the media, sponsors and community members who graced the occasion. He noted that their presence and support added immense value to the event and reaffirmed a shared commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy municipality.

Hon. Solomon Brako Kusi warmly congratulated all awardees for their well-deserved recognition, describing their selfless dedication, teamwork and commitment to sanitation as inspiring and exemplary. According to him, the awardees clearly demonstrated that active community involvement remains a key driver of sustainable development.

As part of the awards, beneficiaries received various household items, including refrigerators, washing machines, television sets, microwave ovens, gas stoves, standing fans, blenders and wall clocks, as a token of appreciation for their invaluable service.

The MCE also commended everyone who contributed in diverse ways—through planning, coordination, sponsorship and logistics—to ensure the success of the maiden edition. He emphasised that their collective effort has laid a strong foundation for making the Annual Sanitation Awards a continuous and impactful initiative in the municipality.

Hon. Solomon Brako Kusi concluded by calling on residents to sustain the spirit of volunteerism and environmental responsibility, urging all stakeholders to continue working together to build a cleaner, healthier and more resilient Birim Central Municipality.
