KMA: About hundred students benefit from government scholarship

The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly with the help and support of the Scholarship Secretariat of Ghana has presented scholarship letters to One Hundred and One (101) students to further their tertiary education.

The scholarship scheme which has now been decentralized to make it accessible to all eligible Ghanaians is part of efforts by government to boost quality education in the country especially with regards to brilliant but needy students.

Presenting the Scholarship to the beneficiaries, the Mayor of Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly Mr. Osei Assibey Antwi stated that the government is ready to support quality education in the country.



He cited the introduction of the Ghana School Feeding Programme to boost enrollment in basic schools, the government’s flagship programme dubbed Free Senior High School and the introduction of scholarships to eligible beneficiaries to further their tertiary education.



The Mayor then urged the student to embrace the opportunity offered them and study hard, be committed, dedicated and God-fearing in order to build a better future.
