Speaking to Ghanadistricts.com, she said though potable water situation is very bad in the district, they have been able to make some strides in that regard, and the people are very appreciative of the space at which they have managed to improve access to water in major towns in the district.

She disclosed how through the District Assembly Common fund they have been able to drill a number of boreholes in selected communities, adding this will be scaled up in the coming years.

According to her they target communities with about 300 to 400 population and provide them with boreholes, adding so far they have completed more than 12 in some communities and schools including Zua Lengu, Kongo Zangong, Zopeliga Pankey Bulug, Daliga, Zanlerigu Konkolgo, Nyogbare Ndeyabong, Pelungu, Zanlerigu Woridaa Zubulem, Gani-Asonge, Nangodi Goohe.

The rest are Logre, Damolgo, Gani Zanlerigu Primary, Logre Primary, and Logre Potin.

She was however confident the support of non-governmental organisations and philanthropists could help accelerate in meeting the water needs of other communities.
