The new building, which was financed with the assembly’s share of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF), has given relief to the pupils who were previously studying in makeshift structure.

Disclosing this in an interview, District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area, Mr Eugene Sackey described the move was a giant step taken by the assembly to help improve basic education in the area. He thus advised teachers and pupils of the school to take proper care of the facility in order to lengthen its lifespan.

“For years now, pupils and teachers of the school have been attending classes in a dilapidated structure which also suffered an extensive damage after a sever rainstorm that hit the area” he told Ghanadistricts.com.

He noted that the situation affected studies in the area for the most part because some pupils were hesitant to attend classes especially, wherever it threatened to rain.

This, he said, prompted the assembly to as a matter of urgency construct a new classroom block for the school and further expressed optimism that the development would go a long way to help enhance teaching and learning in the area.

The DCE concluded by calling on all stakeholders to play their roles efficiently to ensure that the school was well maintained to deliver quality education.
