The DCE stated this when addressing students at the 25th Anniversary of the Presbyterian Senior High School at Adeiso, the district capital.

He indicated that the implementation of free SHS policy had offered equal opportunities to children who could otherwise have stayed home due to financial difficulties.

He noted the implementation means that the burden of paying fees has been removed from parents, especially those who cannot afford to pay their wards' school fees, adding that under the Free SHS policy, government will be required to foot all bills - including feeding fees, tuition fees, books, uniforms and all other charges.

Mr. Sackey thus advised parents to grab the opportunity which has brought huge financial relief to them to help educate their children.

He said the government deserves applauds for taken this bold decision to make Secondary education free to all Ghanaian citizenry.
