Prosper Hotor presented with President’s Award

The Minister of Energy, Mr. John Peter Amewu joined the people of Hohoe during the Independence Day parade which was held at the Kitikpa Sports Stadium.

At the parade, he presented a brand new Microsoft Surface Laptop, a presidential dairy and an undisclosed amount of cash to prosper Hotor for this achievement.

Prosper Hotor was a former student of Franco Demo and now a student of Bishop Herman College, and received the President's Award for Volta region for his 2019 BECE exams performance and raw score analysis.

He took part in the last year's science practicals summit I facilitated for BECE candidates in Hohoe and it is encouraging seeing the general level of performance in the constituency especially with specific performances in science across the board.

According to Mr. Amewu this pre-BECE science practical program becomes a yearly event “so I did this to encourage this year's Hohoe BECE candidates to learn hard, as a result, they can achieve their goals”.

Furthermore, he pledged to facilitate the donation of 1 laptop each to every teacher in Hohoe Constituency to enhance teaching and learning by starting on a small scale and rolling it out across the constituency.

“We have also instituted a free vacation classes program through the help of some voluntary teachers to help SHS students in Hohoe to improve in subjects where they are weak especially science and maths”, he stated
