Mahama Promises Agro-Processing Factories for Guan

The NDC flagbearer John Dramani Mahama pledged to establish agro-processing facilities in the Guan District if elected, with a focus on adding value to locally produced ginger and rice.

Speaking during his 2024 regional tour, Mahama said an agro-industrial zone would be created to encourage private-sector investment in processing ginger and other agricultural products.

He also promised a rice-processing factory to support farmers and create opportunities for local economic development.

Mahama further outlined plans to prioritise infrastructure in the Oti Region, particularly roads, health, education and sports.
