MCE calls on stakeholders to help curb examination malpractices
The Municipal Chief Executive for Sunyani (MCE) Mr. Ansu Kumi has called on stakeholders in education to help curb examination malpractices to lend credibility to the results and certificates of pupils in the Sunyani Municipality and the country as a whole.

He made the call when he presented 3,400 pieces of mathematical sets and pens to all candidates who are writing this year’s Basic Education Certificate Examination (B.E.C.E) in the municipality. The donation was made on behalf of the Member of Parliament (MP) for Sunyani East, Kwasi Ameyaw Kyeremeh and the Sunyani Municipal Assembly.
Mr. Ansu Kumi urged all the stakeholders to take effective measures to stop examination malpractices in the municipality and the country warning that, if it is not stopped there will be negative repercussions in the future, stressing that, "If we fail to nib this in the bud, we all will bear the blunt in the future".
He commended the stakeholders especially teachers for their selfless service and efforts at bringing malpractices to the barest minimum and encouraged them to continue the good works.
The MCE advised the candidates to be disciplined and stay away from all forms of malpractices during the examination period. He entreated them to focus on their studies, adding that the negative effects of examination malpractices were more dangerous for their future.
The Municipal Director of Education, Mr. Godfred Domah receiving the items commended the MP, the MCE and the Municipal Assembly for their immense contribution towards the improvement of quality education. He said that the donation of the items would go a long way in helping curb malpractices during examinations as some parents are not able to provide these necessities to their wards.
Abigail Abena Sarpong a pupil of St James Basic School in Sunyani on behalf of all the pupils thanked the benefactors for the kind gesture and support.
