KINTAMPO: Local artisans get support
The National Board for Small Scale Industries (NBSSI) together with its local chapter, the Business Advisory Centre (BAC) yesterday 31st January, 2019 at a brief ceremony presented welding equipment’s to four apprentices who had just graduated from local welding shops at the Kintampo Municipality.

The equipment presented comprised of welding machines, drilling machines, saw frames and saw blades.
The Municipal Chief Executive for Kintampo North Municipality, Honorable Michael Sarkodie Baffoe admonished the beneficiaries to put the equipment’s to good use and note the impact of the Akufo Addo led government on their lives.
He lauded the beneficiaries for their steadfastness and endurance in dedicating time and efforts to learning their chosen trade of welding. He lamented of some youth who abuse drugs such as tramadol, marijuana and the like. He also said “do not sale these equipment’s but rather put them to good use and ensure proper maintenance to increase the life span of these equipment’s”.
In his closing remarks he asked the beneficiaries to pay their taxes once they roll out their business to the benefit the Municipality, Country and others.
An interview with the director of the Kintampo North Municipal Business Advisory Centre (BAC) said that, the beneficiaries were drawn from local artisans who solicited the support of the center. He said they were taken through training in Financial Management as well as occupational health and safety.
The Director of (BAC) John Hamond indicated that, the presentations were as part of the Rural Enterprises Programme and was quick to call for the rebranding of the Association for small scale Industries (ASSI), the mother association for all local artisans. He indicated that, the four beneficiaries who were all present to receive their equipment’s amounting to the tune of GHC1, 730.00 each.
The beneficiaries in turn thanked the government (MCE) Municipal Assembly, and the Business Advisory Centre (BAC) for the kind gesture and promised to put the equipment’s to good use to benefit them, their household and communities.
