District Chief Executive of the Binduri District, Ayinga Bagre Yakubu who made the call said the initiative is very well in place considering the fact that agriculture is the main occupation for the larger population across the country.

He noted that the policy provides answers to the twin-problems of migration of the youth to city centres in search of non-existing jobs, and end up food importation from neighbouring countries.

Thus the issue of lack of jobs will be significantly addressed among other equally laudable initiatives like the "one district, one factory" while increased production will inue to increased revenue to the farmers as well as improve nutritional requirements for their families.

He also appealed to land owners to support the initiative by releasing land to interested farmers to increase their farms and new ones to benefit from the programme.
