Minister for Lands and Natural Resources inaugurates office complex for the Minerals Commission in Akim Oda.

On Wednesday, June 5, 2024, the Honorable Samuel A. Jinapor, Minister for Lands and Natural Resources, officially inaugurated a state-of-the-art office complex for the Minerals Commission in Akim Oda.

During the ceremony, Minister Jinapor highlighted the historical significance of the Akim Oda office, one of the pioneering offices established in the country.

He emphasized the Akufo-Addo administration's commitment to revitalizing the mining sector through sustainable and environmentally conscious practices.

The newly constructed office will enable the Minerals Commission to exercise effective supervision in Akim Oda and its surrounding areas, fostering a more robust and responsible mining industry.

Minister Jinapor also announced the imminent launch of the Community Mining Scheme in Akim Oda, made possible by the establishment of this office.

He acknowledged the instrumental role played by Hon Alexander Akwasi Acquah, Member of Parliament for Akim Oda, in realizing this milestone and promised a forthcoming announcement regarding the concession.
