EOCO Boss visits Bono East region
Executive Director of Economic and Organized Crime Office, Commissioner of Police (COP) Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah on Monday 21st February 2022 paid a one-day official visit to the Bono East Regional Capital, Techiman.

The visit, according to the Executive Director, is the first regional tour since she was appointed into her new portfolio by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo on 5th January 2022.
Whiles in Techiman, the Executive Director first paid a courtesy call on the Bono East Regional Minister Hon. Kwasi Adu Gyan at his office.
Receiving Maame Tiwaa and her entourage to his office, Bono East Regional Minister congratulated her on her new portfolio. He expressed gratitude to her for choosing the Bono East Region to begin her tour of the regions and expressed the hope that, this will go a long way to deepen and sustain the relationship between them.
The Regional Minister assured the Executive Director that he will do his best to make sure that the work of EOCO is sustained in the Region.
COP Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah said she has come to the region to familiarize herself with the work of her outfit in the region.
According to her EOCO used to have a desk office with one officer in Techiman but in 2020 after the region had been created, they upgraded it into a regional office with a Regional Director adding that they have now secured a building which will be used as a temporal office as they take steps to build a permanent office.
She also said they are going to furnish the new office with the logistics needed and will send more staff and in addition they have brought a new pick up to help in the work of the office in the Region.
Madam Tiwaa and her team also paid a courtesy call on the Paramount chief of Tehiman Oseadeeyor Akumfi Ameyaw IV at his private residence.
Welcoming the Executive Director, Oseadeeyor Akumfi Ameyaw IV congratulated her on her new appointment praised her for the hard work done when she was with the Police Service.
The Paramount Chief who is also a Member of the Council of State said, he was happy when he heard that the President has appointed her into her new position adding “the girl-child should take their studies serious and aspire to be like Maame Tiwaa”.
Nana appealed to the Executive Director to make sure that EOCO collaborate with other security agents to fight against cybercrime and money laundering which is now rampant in the country and as such discouraging foreign donors and investors from doing business in the country.
On her part, Maame Tiwaa thanked Oseadeeyor and his Council for the warm reception accorded her. She added that she was appointed into her new position on 5th January 2022 by His Excellency Nana Akufo Addo and decided to tour the regions to familiarize herself with the work of her outfit in the regions adding “I am happy to have started these regional tours from the Bono East region”.
She told the chiefs that EOCO used to have a desk office in the region with only one officer but with the coming in of the new region it has now been upgraded to a Regional Directorate where more staff will be posted to help in the work of the office in the region.
She expressed gratitude to the chief for giving EOCO land to build their office and residential accommodations adding “Nana I assure u that we are going to start building our office on that land immediately for the work of that office to be sustained in the region”.
The Executive Director and her entourage also paid a courtesy call on the Regional Police Command where they were received by DCOP Samuel Winful Deputy Regional Commander.
Madam Tiwaa Addo-Danquah appealed to the police to collaborate with the EOCO officer in the Region to clamp down on cyber-crime and money laundering activities in the region.
DCOP Samul Winful on behalf of the Regional Police Commander DCOP Moses Atibila who was away at the time of our visit pledged the full support of the police in make sure that the work of EOCO in the regional is successful.
The Executive Director also inspected a building they have secured at Twumia Nkwanta a suburb of Techiman which is to serve as a temporal office as they take steps to build their permanent office on the land by Nananom through the Bono East Regional Coordinating Council.
Maame Tiwaa after the inspection left for Sunyani the Bono Regional capital to continue her tour there on Tuesday 22nd February and continue to Ahafo Region on Wednesday the 23rd of the same month.
