The interventions form part of the Assembly's broader strategy to strengthen primary healthcare services and improve living conditions for residents in underserved communities.
Information available to GhanaDistricts.com indicates that the district is constructing and upgrading CHPS compounds to bring healthcare services closer to residents, particularly women, children and vulnerable groups in remote communities.
The Assembly has also embarked on a number of water and sanitation interventions, including the drilling of boreholes and the provision of sanitation facilities aimed at reducing waterborne diseases and improving environmental health conditions.
District authorities say the projects are expected to reduce travel time for residents seeking healthcare services while improving maternal and child healthcare outcomes within the district.
The District Chief Executive noted that expanding healthcare and water infrastructure remains a key priority under the Assembly's development agenda and aligns with national efforts to achieve universal health coverage and improved sanitation.
Residents and community leaders have welcomed the interventions, describing them as critical investments that will improve livelihoods and support socio-economic development in the district.
