DCE urges media to strengthen COVID-19 education
The District Chief Executive (DCE) of bongo, Peter Ayimbisa has called on the media to intensify public education on COVID-19, to make people adopt best practices to minimize the spread.

He noted this during a public health emergency management meeting on discussing the district preparedness with regards to the outbreak pandemic, of which to educate stakeholders on the roles in contribution to the prevention of the virus.
The DCE urged the media to be circumspect in their reportage, and report facts in order to avoid panic and public unrest.
He said misinformation and report about the number of infected cases recorded create panic among the citizenry and therefore asked the journalist to be fair, accurate and report on authentic issues.
Mr. Ayimbisa further called on the media to use their wider platforms to educate the masses on the proper measures to prevent the spread of the virus.
The District health director Steven Bordotsiah noted that there is a port health station at Namoo border, liking Ghana and Burkina Faso, and they are collaborating effectively with immigration service to ensure that all persons entering the country is thoroughly screened.
The District Coordinating director indicated that education will be intensify to ensure that all persons who are sick, pass through the approved routes that it enables health professionals access them before entry.
He called on all stakeholders to intensify public education on the virus so that it enables the public on the relevance of adhering to personal hygiene.
