The Ketu North Assembly looks forward to promoting the production of oil palm and mango under the Planting for Export and Rural Development (PERD) programme which is also geared towards the realization of the ‘one district, one factory’ programme in the municipality.
In view of this, over 16,000 hybrid of oil palm seedlings are being distributed to interested registered farmers from all over the municipality including men and women.
The workshop afforded beneficiary farmers to be taken through all processes required in the land preparation, transplanting and other cultural practices of the oil palm.
A technical stand-by team has also been inaugurated to routinely visit all beneficiary farmers before, during and after transplanting to provide technical assistance to the beneficiary farmers.
