Birim North Assembly targets GH¢ 215,765 revenue
The Birim North District Assembly is to generate GH¢ 215,765 from tolls, rates, licenses, registration of traders and conveyance fees and other internally generated sources, next year.

The assembly is also expected to receive GH¢ 1.8 million as its share of the District Assembly Common Fund.
Mr Napoleon Amoako Asiamah, District Chief Executive, who announced these at the general meeting of the assembly at New Abirem on Wednesday, said the funds would be used to finance construction and rehabilitation of basic schools buildings, markets, rehabilitation of feeder roads and maintenance of assembly buildings.
He said to promote education in the area, the assembly has sponsored 35 students to participate in this year's Eastern Regional Science, Technology and Mathematics Clinic, in Koforidua at the cost of GH¢ 2,500.
Mr Asiamah said 14 basic schools had 100 percent pass in this year's Basic Education Certificate Examination, as against seven schools that had 100 per cent pass last year.
He said the assembly organized training for physically challenged persons and with support from a non-governmental organization (NGO), presented 25 wheel chairs and 16 clutches to them
Mr Asiamah advised the assembly members to assist revenue collectors to generate more revenue to finance development projects.
