Sefwi Anhwiaso Manhene lobbies president for more appointments in his next gov’t

The Paramount Chief of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area, Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi ll has appealed to the President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to consider more appointments from Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency in the Western North Region for been faithful and loyal to the New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the past four terms.

According to him, the residents of Bibiani and its environs have been consistently voted for the NPP party by giving them an overwhelming victory since they took over the seat from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) party in 2004 after the Presidential and Parliamentary Elections.

Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi ll, who is also a board member of the GNPC Foundation further explained that even though the President had given some appointments to few people within the Bibiani Municipality but it is not enough comparing their track records of voting margin for the NPP party in the Region.

He said Bibiani has been neglected from vital positions such as Cabinet Ministers, Ambassadors, and Chief Executive Officers.

He indicated that Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency as a stronghold for New Patriotic Party deserves better positions to reflect upon their toiled during Elections.

Ogyeahoho made this appeal when he was delivering his welcome address at Bibiani during the last day of the President's three-day visit to the Western North Region.

On infrastructure projects and policies, Ogyeahoho was thankful to President Akufo-Addo for his prudent policies rolled out and his tremendous achievements such as One-district, One-factory, the introduction of the free senior school policy, cocoa pollination, restoration of teacher trainee and nurses allowances, scholarship package for tertiary students for both home and abroad to study.

Ogyeahoho Gyabi, the immediate past President of the Western Regional House of Chiefs used the opportunity to announce the various projects undertook by the NPP government in Bibiani Municipality over the last three and a half years in government through GNPC Foundation and central government.

He cited, for instance, the construction of the science resources center at Queen's Senior High School, the ongoing 24 seat toilet facility, ongoing AstroTurf (artificial pitch) all at Sefwi Anhwiaso, construction of boys dormitory, and science resources at Sefwi Bekwai Senior High School, Mechanized borehole at Sefwi Tanoso and Pataboso, 24 seater toilet at Pataboso Nkwanta, ongoing construction of Asawinso to Sefwi Merewa road and 24 seater toilet at Bibiani Market.



The rest are ongoing Bibiani town roads, dining hall and boys dormitory, and science resources center at Bibiani Senior High School among others.

President Akufo-Addo in his short address praised Ogyeahoho and thanked the people of Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency for the massive crowd.

He stated that the NPP government is committed to delivering on his promises to transform Ghana.
President Akufo-Addo admonished Ghanaians not to entrust the former president and flagbearer of the opposition NDC party, Mr. John Dramani Mahama since has nothing good to offer Ghanaians.

Adding that Mahama is noted for inconsistent and flip-flops in all his endeavors following his comments on the introduction of the free SHS.
Mr. Mahama on several platforms had said the free SHS is not flexible until twenty years and now making u-turn to tell Ghanaians to extend the free SHS to private schools if he is giving the nod come December 7.

NDC government has nothing to offer Ghanaians but only to come back and scrap the teacher trainee and nurse’s allowances and Free Senior High School policy which comes as a major relief to parents.

The President, therefore, called on the constituents in Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Constituency to come out in their numbers to vote massively for the NPP party to retain the Akufo-Addo government and also to win the seat for the Parliamentary Candidate for the area Mr. Alfred Obeng Boateng in order complete all the ongoing projects in his second term.

The visit also affords President to inspect work on an ultra-modern ongoing Model School at Sefwi Awaso and a Science Resources Center at Queen's Senior High School.
