She noted that Assembly staff, as technocrats, are entrusted with the responsibility of providing professional expertise to drive development and improve the living standards of residents in Obuasi. She therefore called on all staff to be mindful of their mandate and contribute effectively to the Municipality’s progress.
Madam Angmorteh made the call during a staff durbar organised by the Assembly’s administration to mark the beginning of the new working year. The meeting created a platform for Management to engage staff and outline expectations for the year ahead.
She addressed key issues including staff attitude to work, performance contracts, appraisal systems, and staff welfare. While commending staff for their dedication in the previous year, she expressed satisfaction with their commitment to duty..jpg)
According to her, this hard work contributed to the Assembly’s impressive performance in the District Assemblies Performance Assessment Tool (D-PAT), where OMA successfully met the required standards. She encouraged staff to maintain and improve upon this achievement in the coming year.
The MCD also introduced the new Head of Central Administration, Madam Bertha Adu-Koranteng, a Deputy Director of the Local Government Service, and urged staff to offer her the needed support and cooperation.
Addressing the gathering, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Hon. Faustilove Appiah-Kannin, commended staff for their continuous support and encouraged them to sustain their efforts to further enhance development in the Municipality.
She emphasised her commitment to a collaborative and inclusive leadership style, stating that she prefers dialogue and teamwork over punitive measures. She added that her working relationship with staff since assuming office has been positive and productive.
The Head of Human Resource Management, Mr. Akwasi Afriyie Amoateng, also advised staff on the importance of properly signing the attendance register to promote discipline and accountability.
He encouraged all employees to give their best in support of the Assembly’s development agenda.
