RMU introduces new curriculum to train fisher folks
The Metropolitan Chief Executive of the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) Mr. Mohamed Adjei Sowah has lauded a decision to introduce a new curriculum to train Fisher folks in modern fishing practice to be run by the Regional Maritime University (RMU).

The introduction of the new curriculum forms part of the government's initiative aimed at ensuring sustainable fishing in the country.
The mayor lauded the initiative when a delegation from the Korea Maritime Consultants Co. (KOMAC) conducting a feasibility study on the modernization of the RMU paid a courtesy call on him at the City Hall in Accra.
He indicated that the fishing industry contributes to Gross Domestic Product adding that training fisher folks in modern artisanal fishing were a step in the right direction.
Mr. Adjei Sowah pointed out that the fishing industry in Accra is being revived with the reconstruction of the Jamestown fishing harbour and assured that fisher folks would take full advantage of the opportunity.
Yoo Heechuc, the Project Manager for KOMAC said his outfit would be introducing an official technology to enhance the fishing industry in Ghana after the modernization of the University.
