Exim Bank-Ghana launches high quality cassava project
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Exim Bank-Ghana, Kwame Adu Darkwa last Friday, launched a 300 acres Nkukuninkaka Cassava Farms Project under the Cassava Enterprise Project of the Exim Bank Ghana at Anum in the Asuogyaman District of the Eastern Region.

In his speech, Mr. Adu Darkwa called on beneficiaries not to politicize the project since it is for and to benefit all Ghanaians.
According to him, the project offers and has the potential to employ more of the country's youth, particularly those in and around Anum stating that each acre of plantation seeks to employs two workers.
The Deputy CEO of Exim Bank dismissed doubts of the project becoming a white elephant like the Sun Flower Oil Project assuring the gathering of the sustainability of the cassava project as those running the project are competent and committed to its cause.
Mr. Kwame Adu Darkwa who is seeking to represent the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2020 general elections promised to render his continue support to the Anum community.
On his part Mr Jerry Afful, the Chief Executive Officer of Nkukuninkaka Farms appreciated the effort of the traditional rulers of the Anum Community especially Nana Kwasi Anyane who is the Adontenhene of Anum and the acting President of the Anum traditional council for providing 300 acres of land for the project as well as Exim Bank for the support.
According to him "the Nkukuninkaka cassava farms Project is expected to produce 300 acres of cassava the organization has managed to plant about 200 acres of cassava before the lunching, the remaining 100 acres will be planted as soon as possible".
He hinted that "the cassava will be supplied directly to CALTEC in Ho who will use it for the production of starch as well as to pharmaceuticals and alcoholic industries in Ghana".
He therefore encouraged the youth who are interested in the project to come forward after explaining that the organization will offer the necessary start up support including logistics to start their individual farm projects.
