Agona East Town roads to get facelift

Residents in the Agona East District in the Central Region have been assured of smooth transport experience in due course as measures are in place to give town roads a facelift.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Agona East, Dennis Armah Frimpong, said through its Common Fund, a number of facelift project will improve the lives of the people.

According to him, most of the deplorable roads would be reshaped for smooth transportation of goods and services and also boost the economic activities of the people, saying about over 10km roads in the district are being reshaped.

The DCE further mentioned that, after his inspection, the Assembly would continue to fix all roads leading to deprived communities, adding that it had been the source of worry because food stuffs usually gets rotten in the bush.

Mr. Frimpong said currently the assembly has reshaped the road from Kwansakrom Sawmills to Agona Asafo after a convert over Dutch River which was completed creating access to road users to enhance their businesses.

He therefore appeals to Ghana Cocoa board to use its cocoa roads component in assisting them in reshaping the deprived road network.

The DCE further stated that other social interventions would be carried out in education, agriculture and healthcare among others.

He therefore calls on development partners, philanthropist to extend helping hands to supplement their efforts.
