Indeed, the sod cutting and construction commenced in July 2023 and work completed in September 2023.
The bridge and Road traverses the Agona East, Awutu Senya West and Gomoa East Districts in Central Region, and serves communities like Akrabong, Alanta, Obrachre, Akroma, Akukuo, Bontrase, Kojo Ashoun, and Abuakwa among others.
Describing the commissioning of the project as “an excellent and unprecedented one”, the DCE noted that for many years, residents living in and around Akroma and Akrabong, farmers, traders and motorists, have had to endure the inconvenience of bad state of the bridge and poor road network.
The completion of the project, according to the Assembly member and the traditional leaders is a welcome development which is expected to enhance trading and other economic activities in the 3 districts and will also serve as a major route for the transportation of farm produce.
Finally, the DCE emphasized that “Rome was never built in a day" but together and a step at a time, we shall achieve the desired results and build the Agona East we want.
