Sanitation Day in New Juaben North Municipality

The third edition of the monthly National Sanitation day Exercise in the Municipality came off on 6th September, 2025 in the New Juaben North Municipality.

The exercise was led by the New Juaben North Municipal Chief Executive, Hon. Samuel Adongo, with support from the Fire Service, Zoom lion, NADMO Officers, Staff of the Assembly , Assembly members, and some citizens.

The Exercise saw the sweeping of the streets, weeding of bushy areas and dredging of choked gutters from the Effiduase traffic light through to Asokore Township.

The MCE was disappointed over the refusal of some shop owners around Effiduase traffic light through Asokore Township to participate in the cleanup exercise despite several Public announcements by the Information Services Department and Information Centers in the Municipality .Most shop owners failed to show up.

According to the Municipal chief Executive their absence appeared deliberate, describing it as “an intentional act” that must attract sanctions to deter others.

He stressed that shop owners must take advantage of the exercise to clean the frontage of their shops.

He also disclosed that the Environmental Officers will issue a court summons to all those who refused to comply.
