The MCE who attributed the situation to increase in population and introduction of some significant educational policies such as the Capitation grant and school feeding programme by the erstwhile Kuffour administration however, added it was up to the assembly to take up the task to put up more school blocks to match the current number.

The Ga West Municipality is currently being faced with inadequate classrooms, a situation that has compelled some head teachers of the various schools to enroll twice the GES required number of pupils per class.

However, speaking in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, the MCE noted that all hopes were not lost as the assembly is bent on putting up more structures to improve teaching and learning.

He said the assembly will also expedite action on all ongoing school blocks in the area to ensure their intended purposes are achieved.
