Adopt a school project in Tema yielding results, MCE

The Tema Metropolitan Assemblys (TMA) initiative to allow corporate and religious organizations to adopt a school in the Metropolis is yielding the desired results.

Mr Felix Mensah Nii Anang-La, Tema Metropolitan Chief Executive, who brought the initiative as part of the Assemblys Restoration Agenda, announced this on Thursday in a sessional address during a General Assembly Meeting.

Mr Anang-La disclosed that about 20 organizations had contacted the Assembly and expressed interest in adopting some public schools in their area.

He mentioned Unilever Ghana Limited, West Africa Gas Pipeline, Presbyterian Church of Ghana Communities Nine and Eleven congregations, the Methodist Church, among others.

He said the initiative would give an opportunity to stakeholders to invest in the provision of quality education in the Metropolis by assisting the schools with some of their needs.

According to him, adoptee organizations also had the opportunity to advertise on the schools fence walls and receive special waivers from the Assembly.

The MCE therefore urged others to come on board to collaborate with the Assembly to provide the needed education in the community.
