The DCE was accompanied by Mr. Abass Afful, Agona East District Engineer, and inspected a newly constructed road from Agona Asafo to Swedru Senior High School junction among others.

Mr. Armah Frimpong said the projects were financed by the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF).

He said more than 10 kilometers of feeder roads had been constructed in the hinterlands to enable farmers to have easy access to market centres to sell their produce.

He gave the assurance that the assembly would construct more accessible roads in newly developed areas in Agona Asafo and Agona Kwanyako to help residents.

Mr. Armah-Frempong commended the Ghana Cocoa Board for constructing the road from Mankrong-Junction to Namawura linking Agona Duakwa to Akim Oda Agona Swedru main road and appealed for more of such roads.

On Education, the DCE said the assembly would provide tables and chairs to basic schools in the district to facilitate quality teaching and learning.

He said as a professional teacher myself education is the only panacea to eradicate poverty, and it is the responsibility of the assembly to ensure that schools get structures that will help provide a better environment for both children and teachers to excel.

The DCE appealed to the Minister of Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh to assist the Agona Nsaba Presbyterian Senior High School with a bus.

He said the school relied on the Namawura Community Senior High School bus any time students had to travel out of the district.
