Tain DCE nominee to invest more in agric

Newly appointed District Chief Executive (DCE) for Tain in the Bono Region, Madam Louisa Acheampong has already outlined her vision and developmental priorities, if endorsed as DCE for the area.

She is the only female among twelve (12) newly appointed Municipal and District Chief Executives for the Bono region by President Nana Akufo-Addo.

She replaces Lawyer Charity Oforiwaa Dwomoh, who has completed her term of office.

Speaking in an interview with the media, Madam Acheampong said her prime focus will be to invest more in agriculture to ensure food security and also for export.

Tain, she said, is known for farming and farming related activities; thus, it is imperative for her to resource farmers in the area to grow in large scale to help achieve the President’s “Planting for Food and Jobs” flagship initiative.

She therefore urged the youth in the area to take advantage of this and develop keen interest in agriculture to help better their lives.

She also seized the opportunity to commend her predecessors for working tirelessly to ensure growth and development of the district, especially in the agric sector.
