TAIN: Assembly determined to transform Menji Crocodile Pond
The Tain District Assembly in the Brong Ahafo region is determined to transform the Menji Crocodile Pond into an eco-tourism site.

The rehabilitation work is aimed at attracting more tourists to the Pond thereby increasing revenue mobilization for the district assembly, to enable it raise enough funds, to finance its numerous infrastructure projects across the district.
Briefing Ghanadistricts.com after her visit to the pond, District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area, Lawyer Charity Foriwaa Dwommoh lauded the initiative taken by the assembly, adding that this will help woo both domestic and foreign tourists to the district.
She ceased the opportunity to call for stakeholder support to help improve the site to serve as a one-stop shop for tourists who visit the area.
Mrs Dwommoh was hopeful that, the site, if properly maintained and managed, will enhance the creation of both direct and indirect employment to ease the rate of unemployment situation in the area.
She added that, the Akufo-Addo led government was still bent on creating employment for the youth especially, those in the rural communities to discourage them from migrating to various urban centres in search of nonexistent jobs.
The DCE further ceased the opportunity to highlight on some giant steps taken by the government to help reduce unemployment in the district.
She cited the recent distribution of the oil palm seedlings to farmers in the district as part of initiatives taken by the government to improve livelihood.
