The Bridge, which is one of the busiest due to its location in the country have recently become weak and exposed, therefore causing accidents usually among motor riders in the area.

Motorist who ply the road sometimes try to avoid using the exposed joints by veering into the opposite lane, of which they sometimes end up knocking down riders, pedestrians or hawkers who make use of the shoulders of the road for their various commercial activities.

Some pupils, who cross the bridge to school every day, have also expressed fear of being knocked down by oncoming vehicles.

Residents who spoke in an interview are therefore, appealing to the Ghana Highway Authority (GHA) to fix the problem in order to prevent future accidents and deaths in the event that the bridge collapses.

According to them, several lives have already been lost due to the bad and dilapidated nature of the bridge and have thus called on the government to as a matter of urgency rehabilitate the bridge to help improve the situation.
