Nkoranza North District Assembly elects Presiding Member

Members of Nkoranza North District Assembly in the Brong Ahafo Region, have re-elected Mr Felix Osei-Asiedu as the Presiding Member for a two-year term.

He failed to win the first round election although when out of the 35 members present 23 of them voted for him whilst 12 voted against him.

During the second voting, 34 out of the 37 members voted for him to gain 91.9 per cent to retain his position.

Mr Kwadwo Agyei-Dwomor, District Chief Executive expressed appreciation to the assembly for re-electing Mr Osei-Asiedu.

He announced that the Government with support from Francaises De Development, a donor agency had provided the people of Busunya with a Small Towns Water project facility estimated at about GHs 1, 028,427.16 to address their water problem.

Mr Agyei-Dwomor said some communities have also benefited from boreholes provided by the assembly.

He announced that the assembly has plans to organise a Best Teachers Award Day for hardworking and outstanding teachers to motivate them to improve education in the district.

Mr Osei-Asiedu, expressed gratitude to the assembly members for the confidence reposed in him and asked them to offer the necessary support and advice to him.
