Mensin Gold Bibiani Limited donates PPEs to health facilities

In its quest to protect the health workers from contracting the deadly COVID-19 disease, Mensin Gold Bibiani Limited (MGBL) through the Resolute Foundation Advisory Panel (RFAP) has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to the District Health Directorate in Bibiani through the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Assembly to support the fight against COVID-19.

The items which are expected to be distributed to the various health facilities in the Municipality include 200 headgears, 30 re-usable aprons, 150 disposable gloves, 50 pieces of safety goggles, 200 cover shoes and 20 white clinical wellington boots so as to alley fear and panic from the health workers in discharging their daily duties.

Presenting the items, the Community and Legal Relations Officer of Mensin Gold Bibiani Limited, Mr. Emmanuel Aidoo on behalf of the RFAP Chairman said, the gesture was to help strengthen the protection of health workers and frontline staff in the fight against the spread of the virus in the municipality.

He said, equipping and protecting front line staff was crucial to safeguarding their safety in the line of duty.

Mr. Aidoo emphasized that the demonstration forms part of the Company’s commitment to supporting the government to fight the spread of the novel coronavirus pandemic and caring for the welfare of the people, particularly communities within their catchment areas.

Mr. Alfred Amoah, Municipal Chief Executive of Bibiani-Ahnwiaso-Bekwai who received the items on behalf of the District Health Directorate and handed over to the Municipal Health Director, Dr. Francis Takyi, commended the management of Mensin Gold Bibiani Limited for their immense support to the Municipal Assembly in fighting this world pandemic.

He appealed to people in the municipality to adhere to the preventive protocols to stay safe from the virus.

The Municipal Health Director on behalf of the Health Directorate thanked Mensin Gold Bibiani Limited for their kind gesture and assure the donors that the items would be put to good use to serve the resident in the municipality.
