The parliamentary candidate elect, who is the former Director General of the Ghana Ports and Harbor Authority pulled 538 representing 80.41% of the total votes cast ahead of his contender who happens to be the 2016 parliamentary candidate of the party in the person of Kwame Adu Darkwah managed some 131 representing 19.58%.

The uproar in the Asuogyaman Constituency after the victory of Paul Asare Ansah has sent a pinning signal to the NDC’s Thomas Ampem Nyarko, that there is more to be done.

The youth of the constituency from both divides in the major political parties for the first time came together to celebrate the victory.

"This is a new dawn, a new era. The NPP can take over Asuogyaman with the right plans in place. His Excellency Nana Addo Danqua has conspicuously demonstrated his love for the people of Asuogyaman by providing us with Port which will soon materialise.

This is enough to change the voting trends. We only need to put the right strategies and we are good to turn things around. Asuogyaman has been voting for the NDC for a long time, they always wins the presidential election. They have not compensated the people with anything. We must let the people know it is time to show them the red card”. It is time to work, no more talks, he said

According to Paul Ansah the NPP has two tasks to achieve after the 2020 general elections which are to win for the first time the presidential election and also to retain the parliamentary seat. He was optimistic to make Asuogyaman the World Bank of the New Patriotic Party
