This means, traders from Asante Akim South, Sekyere Kumawu, Asante Akim Central and Kumasi, would not be allowed to enter Agogo for trading activities, especially on market days.

Speaking with Mr. Francis Oti Boateng, the District Chief Executive, told Ghanadistricts.com that, the decision was to help prevent the coronavirus into the area and also protect the people from catching and spreading the virus in the communities.

He said the ban would also help the social distance directives by the government as part of measures to contain the spread of the virus.

Mr Oti Boateng said commercial transport operators have been asked to reduce the number of passengers they took at a time, while providing hand sanitizers in their vehicles for use by passengers.

The DCE, who was with the Member of Parliament for the area, Mr Andy Appiah Kubi, and was interacting with market women at Agogo, urged them to value their lives and protect themselves from catching the virus.
