It will be recalled that the Volta Regional Minister, Dr Yao Letsa officially handed some 653 motorbikes to the Volta Regional Coordinating Council for onwards distribution to all Municipal and District assemblies in the Volta Region.

The exercise is in line with the government’s commitment to enhance decentralization at the Municipal and District levels by equipping assembly members to be able to effectively reach out to their constituents.

At a short presentation ceremony, the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, Mr. Donkor Kadey informed the recipients to use the motorbikes for their intended purposes and adopt maintenance culture to ensure that the motorbikes last.

On their part, the Assembly members expressed their profound gratitude to the government and assured that they will use the motorbikes for the purpose with which they were procured.
