The ceremony brought together key stakeholders including, the Regional Minister; Hon Charity Gardiner, Member of Parliament Hon. Charles Asiedu, Municipal Chief Executive; Hon. Emmanuel Kwame Frimpong, the Education staff, Traditional authorities, the clergy, heads of departments, parents and guardian and the general public.
In his address Hon. Charles Asiedu reaffirmed his commitment to driving development in the constituency, with a focus on education, health and accountability. He explained that this was not this first intervention in the educational sector, noting that the introduction of the Charles Asiedu Excellence
Awards for pupils from Class 1 to Class 6 had significantly boosted academic performance and competition among pupils.
He assured the gathering that subsequent editions of the initiative would be expanded to cover more beneficiaries. He also congratulated and advised the fresh entrants to remain disciplined, stay focused on their studies and strive for academic excellence as they begin this new chapter.
Touching on infrastructural development, Hon. Asiedu highlighted key projects earmarked to drive growth in the municipality. He disclosed that two ambulance stations had been secured in Techimantia and Derma, which, when operationalised, would significantly improve emergency healthcare response in the area.
He also announced that, through the persistent efforts of the Regional Minister, approval had been secured for the construction of a Nursing Training College in Tano South, describing it as a project close to the heart of the community.
Hon. Asiedu expressed gratitude to the Assembly, Traditional authorities, and all stakeholders for their continuous support and prayers. He assured the people of Tano South that more developmental projects would be undertaken to bring honour and glory to the Municipality.
Addressing the gathering, the Ahafo Regional Minister, Hon. Charity Gardiner, lauded the Member of Parliament for Tano South for the gesture. She added that the gesture would go a long way to motivate students to take their education seriously as they transition to the next level of their academic journey.
Hon. Gardiner admonished the students to uphold discipline and good conduct and listen to their parents advice, noting that SHS is a stage that can make or break their future. She urged them to make good use of the items provided and remain focused on their studies.
She further outlined some developmental projects to be undertaken by the government, including the construction of a cocoa quality control facility, a Nursing Training College, a Farmer Service Centre, and two ambulance stations, among others in the Municipality. She emphasized that these projects, when completed, would significantly improve healthcare delivery, support farmers and create opportunities for the youth in the municipality.
Hon Gardner called on the people to continue supporting the Member of Parliament and expressed her hope for continued development in Tano South.
