Issues of water and sanitation needs serious attention - DCE
The Talensi District Chief Executive, Dr. Christopher Boatbil, has said the provision of water and good sanitary conditions are two important issues that must be given much seriousness.

According to Dr. Boatbil, his understanding of their importance and the disadvantages within our environments has dawned on him the need to provide some amenities in that regard, hence his provision of water systems in six communities in the Talensi District of Upper east region.
The DCE noted that apart from the water systems he and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government have provided for the people of Talensi within one year in office, the district is also witnessing the construction of seven 10-seater water closet toilet facilities in some parts of the district.
“Currently the Talensi District since its creation can boast of three Small Town Water System. With the NPP government led by His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, the Talensi district is benefiting from six more but scaled down water system at Sheaga, Datoku, Tongo Beo, Gorugo, Pusunamogo and Baare.
“Though the negotiations of the district assembly, the district benefited from a multi-purpose water system for domestic and irrigation from Accra Brewery at Tindongo”.
He adds that the assembly has started a clean-up exercise in all the electoral areas of the district to ensure environmental cleanliness.This, he said being done with his help.

The essence is to clean the environment, educate the population about the essence of environmental cleanings and ways that they should adopt to ensure cleanliness.
Two of our environmental officers have been sent for two weeks training on how to prosecute environmentally related offences”.
The Legislator hints of successful negotiations to get the Catholic Relief Service to provide the district with 34 boreholes across the district. Central government he said has further made an allocation of 20 additional boreholes to the districts.
