NINGO P: Steel manufacturing company commissioned in Lakpleku

The Ningo Prampram District Assembly has commissioned a Steel manufacturing Factory under the flagship program “One District, One Factory” (1D1F) initiative.

The B5Plus steel giant in Africa, and soon to be the biggest steel manufacturing hub in Ghana, would be saving the country some cost of importing steel into the country.

Addressing the gathering, Mr.Jonathan T. Doku the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area reminded the company not to forgo the principles of the 1D1F initiative, adding that the company should give employment priority to the youth in the District to tackle the employment deficit in the district.



He assured the company of requisite skilled labour in the district and admonished the company to establish excellent relationship with the traditional rulers and the district Assembly for mutual beneficial coexistence.

The sod cutting ceremony brought together distinguished dignitaries including the Indian high commissioner, H.E Berinder Singh Yardav, the Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry Hon. Carlos Kingsley Ahenkora, Deputy Minister of Lands Natural Resources Hon Mrs. Barbara Oteng-Gyasi, traditional leaders and other high profiled dignitaries from the Indian business community and Financial Institutions.



Mr. Carlos Ahenkora addressing the gathering said, the industry sector in Ghana was growing in negative percentages which called for the industrialization of the economy and added that He is particularly excited that the government is on course to achieving the targets of job creation, enhancing natural resources, producing for import substitutions, producing product for export and checking rural urban migration which is the rational that birthed the one district one factory project.



The CEO of B5Plus Mr. Mukesh Takwani assured government of quality products and services to the country. He disclosed that the company in all its dealings have been law abiding and that B5Plus has been the biggest tax payer in the steel industry.

“The company would also continue to give back to society through affordable education and charity” he said. He then thanked the Ghanaian team that has been on board since inception for the success so far.
