BIBIANI: A 42-year-old small scale miner install as chief at Bibiani

The long awaiting news of which the people of Bibiani Hwenapori have been thirsty for after the overthrown of Nana Kwasi Ampomaning in the year 1998 has finally come to reality.

A forty-two-year-old small scale miner, Mr. Isaac Oteng Krah in his private life, has been installed as a new chief of Hwenapori, a suburb of Sefwi Bibiani in the Western North Region.

His stool name is Nana Ebiri Kwaku lll, from the Ankobea Royal Family to succeed his late grandfather Nana Ebiri Kwaku, who died over decades.

This was after the Ankobeahemaah of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area (Queen Mother) Nana Adwoa Ackaah II and Abusuapanin Kwadwo Kyemanteng also from Sefwi Anhwiaso Ankobea Royal Families have presented him to the kingmakers as the chosen candidate from the ruling gate.



The queen mother revealed that the stool has been vacant for almost twenty-three (23) years now after the overthrown of Nana Kwasi Amponmaning.

She further narrated history that, Bibiani Hwenapori happened to be one of the ancient towns for the Ankobea Royal Families in the Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area, so there is no doubt, as we are witnessing this occasion today, she emphasized

At a short ceremony to outdoor the new chief at Bibiani Hwenapori over the weekend, Abusumpanin Kwadwo Kyemanteng advised the new chief to be diligent in serving the people within his jurisdiction and not otherwise.



He, however, pleaded with the people of the town to support the new chief in all his endeavours in order to fight for more development in the community.

In his address thanked the Paramount Chief of Sefwi Anhwiaso Traditional Area Ogyeahoho Yaw Gyebi II, who doubles as the President of the Western Regional House of chiefs and his sub-chiefs for their massive support and also the entire Hwenapori community for the honour done him.

Nana Ebiri Kwaku lll, in an interview, told Ghana News Agency that, his ambition to become the next chief of Hewnapori is not to enrich himself but to seeks the welfare of his people.

Nana, therefore, urged the people to refrain from division among themselves in the community and called for total peace and unity in the entire Hwenapori community to pave the way to foster more development.
