Mr. Alexander Frimpong has been confirmed the district Chief Executive for the Asante Akim South District in the Ashanti Region with a 98.4 percent votes.

He secured 62 votes with only one against out of the 63 assembly members present to become the new DCE for the assembly.

The new DCE thanked the assembly members for the confidence reposed in him and promised to work assiduously to bring the needed development to the district.

He called on all and sundry to extend the same goodwill that characterized his confirmation to him in the discharge of his mandate. He appealed for unity of purpose while they work in the interest of sustainable development wards finding solutions to challenges confronting the people in the district.  

The Member of Parliament for Asante Akim South, Lawyer Kwaku Asante Boateng who also spoke well of the new DCE called for total support for him to deliver on his vision for the district.

The Assembly also elected a new Presiding Member in the person of Beatrice Kyei.

Her election preceded that of the confirmation of the DCE nominee to enable her preside over the meeting.
