Atwima Mponua District Assembly sensitizes residents on bauxite mining
The Atwima Mponua District Assembly has organized a stakeholder meeting to sensitize the people residing in the Nyinahin Bauxite enclave to recognize and acknowledge the socio economic benefits that residents within the project enclave stand to benefit if the mining project is implemented in a harmonious manner.

The District Chief Executive of the area Mr. William Darko in his speech noted that the Nyinahin bauxite project has the potential to turn the socio-economic fortunes of the country if international best practices is adhered adding that the community will enjoy employment opportunities, roads development, health development, educational development ,improvement of security when the bauxite project is commenced.
The Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Integrated Aluminum Development Cooperation Mr.Akwasi Osei Agyei addressing the gathering explained that there will be a Bauxite refinery at Nyinahin and the aged and the vulnerable people in the communities should be considered to benefit monthly maintenance allowance.
Mr. Agyei stated that to enable the Nyinahin community to negotiate the various agreements in the project, Nyinahin will be assisted to appoint an independent transaction advisor and called on Nananom and other stakeholders to support the vision of the government to make Atwima Mponua a Bauxite hub.
