The event, dubbed the “Teacher Excellence Awards,” aimed at recognizing teachers who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to shaping the future of pupils in the municipality.

The awards scheme was organized with support from the Krachi West Municipal Assembly and World Vision International, a development partner to the assembly.

Items given out include standing fans, 32-inch television sets, tabletop fridges, cylinders and cash prices.

In an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Prosper Kwaku Addo, expressed gratitude to World Vision International for their continuous support, noting that their contributions to education and development in the municipality have been immense.

He also called on civil society organizations, philanthropists, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to emulate World Vision’s commitment to educational development in the area.

Touching on other measures put in place to help motivate teachers in the area, the MCE disclosed that the assembly plans to support teachers who wish to further their education, especially those who have served in the municipality for over a decade.
