In agriculture, the agenda seeks to strengthen support for farmers and improve agricultural productivity, recognising the sector’s importance to livelihoods and economic activity within the district.
Road infrastructure also features prominently in the plan, with attention expected to be given to improving road networks to facilitate the movement of people, agricultural produce and other goods. Better roads are essential to connecting farming communities to markets and improving access to social services.
On education, the DCE’s agenda prioritises measures to improve learning conditions and support educational development. The focus on youth skills training is also intended to help young people acquire practical and employable skills that can improve their chances of securing jobs or establishing their own businesses.
Healthcare remains another important component of the five-year plan, with the agenda seeking to improve access to health services and contribute to the wellbeing of residents.
The development framework also places emphasis on strengthening local governance and improving the delivery of public services. Effective collaboration between the Assembly, traditional authorities, community leaders and other stakeholders will be important in identifying local priorities and implementing planned interventions.
Hon. Abdul Hakeem Antwi’s five-year agenda provides a framework for guiding development initiatives in Birim North, with the overall objective of improving living conditions and expanding opportunities for residents.
The successful implementation of the plan will depend on effective planning, resource mobilisation, stakeholder participation and regular monitoring to ensure that projects and programmes deliver the intended benefits to communities across the district.
