In an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, the MCE emphasized that the initiative, when effectively implemented, could serve as a major catalyst for regional development, especially in underserved and economically constrained areas like the Upper West Region.
Describing the 24-hour economy as a "game changer," Alhaji Danwanaa noted that the concept aligns with the government’s broader vision of job creation and inclusive growth.
“This initiative has the potential to transform our local economy,” he said. “It will open up the market, create employment for the youth, and give our businesses the opportunity to operate beyond the usual hours”, he noted.
He further urged all stakeholders particularly the private sector, traditional authorities, and youth groups to embrace the idea and play active roles in its implementation.
Ne revealed that the assembly had already acquired a parcel of land and completed all paper works for the project, stressing that they were only awaiting the prototype design from the ministry of local government before work commences.
He expressed optimism that once completed, the initiative could help reduce unemployment and stimulate economic activity in the area, particularly among young people and small business owners.
