Savelugu Municipality gets new health facility

The people of Savelugu and its environs are now at a huge relief as a new health facility known as Al -Shifaa hospital was officially commissioned at Savelugu in the Northern Region.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Municipal Chief Executive of Savelugu municipal Assembly, Hajia Ayishetu Seidu expressed appreciation to the facility Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Naa Dr. Ibrahim Abubakari Sakundana and the entire management for the vision and decision to have the facility in the area.

She said the establishment of the facility comes at a crucial time when the demand for accessible and quality health service in the municipality is increasing rapidly. The MCE further stated with the growing population and complexities of health challenges the municipality faces the need for a modern well-equipped medical facility cannot be overstated.

Hajia Ayishetu added that the provision of health care is not just a governmental responsibility but a collective effort that requires partnerships between government and private sector and hospitals stands as a clear testimony to such efforts.

According to her, the establishment of the facility in the area marks a significant milestone in the community journey towards better health care services and beacon of hope for the people of Savelugu Municipality noting that the Assembly would continue to invest more on how to provide quality health care to the people.

She assured management of the hospital that her outfit remains committed to supporting the health care sector and facilitating an enabling environment for medical institutions like Al -Shifaa Hospital to strive, indicating that the Assembly would continue to play a pivotal role in providing quality health care services to the people in the area.

She pointed out that the "this new hospital is a significant step towards advancing health care in the municipality". She however, encouraged the CEO and management of the hospital to collaborate with local health centres, clinics in other parts of the municipality to bring quality health care to the door-steps of the people.

The Chief Executive Officer of Al -Shifaa Naa Dr. Ibrahim Abubakari Sakundana in a brief remark extolled the Doctor in charge of the facility Dr Bright Asante for his stellar management skills and prayed for the sustainability of the facility.
