Kwabre East: MP promotes Kwabre “AnweneE” Festival in Parliament

As part of preparations towards the launch of the maiden Kwabre “AnweneE” Festival, Member of Parliament (MP) for Kwabre East Constituency, Francisca Oteng Mensah made promotional statements on the floor of Parliament.

The statement was made to gunner support for the promotion of the crafts industry in Ghana, stating that most major crafts are made by the natives of Kwabre in the Ashanti Region.

The Municipal Chief Executive of the area, Nana Osei Asibey Bonsu together with some citizens and craftmen including wood carvers and kente/Adinkra weavers went to support the MP.

They presented some of their crafts to the speaker of Parliament and also all the members of Parliament were given kente Sash around their body to promote the beautiful crafts in Ghana.

The MP also took the opportunity to invite all and sundry to attend the launch of the maiden Kwabre AnweneE Festival, which she indicated is coming off at the Kumasi cultural Centre on Sunday 22nd July, 2018 at 12pm prompt.

She added that dress code to the launch is any Attire but with a touch of kente or Adinkra.
