The motorbikes, received from the Ministry of Local Government, Decentralization, and Rural Development (MLGDRD), through the National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG), is part of efforts by the Ministry and Government to support the work of Assembly Members in all the Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) nationwide.

Lack of personal means of transport has been identified as a major challenge which affects the effectiveness of the Honorable Assembly Members within their respective Electoral Areas as most of them struggle to reach their electorates and frequently visit the offices of their Assemblies to present and follow up on their developmental needs.

To address this need and enhance governance at the local levels, the various Assemblies, through the National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG), requested for the motorcycles from the MLGDRD.

At Abokobi, on Friday, 10th June, 2022, the MCE, Madam Kaakie Mann, upon receiving the bikes, presented them officially to the Presiding Member (PM), Jesse Nii Noi Anum.

She charged them to work harder and ensure the Assembly and their electorates derive the maximum benefit from the use of the motorbikes, imploring them to take very good care of the facility.

Receiving the motorcycles on behalf of his colleagues, Mr Anum thanked the Government, the MLGRD and NALAG for heeding to their calls and supporting them to deliver more on their mandate.

He also expressed profound gratitude to the Hon. MCE and assured that they will take good care of the motorbikes and use them for the intended purpose.
