His remarks come after recent tensions and violent clashes between rival youth groups from the Zongo and Adoagyiri communities, following a fatal shooting incident.
Speaking to Ghanadistricts.com, the MCE credited the Regional Minister and the Regional Police Commander for their swift intervention, which helped restore calm. He emphasized that there is no cause for alarm, as the Municipal Security Council (MUSEC) and security agencies continue to monitor the situation closely.
Mr. Amenorpe also revealed that the Assembly is nearing completion of a new police station, currently about 90% complete, funded through the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF). The new facility is expected to strengthen security operations in the area.
He commended the security services for their professionalism and collaboration with MUSEC, noting that community involvement remains vital to sustaining peace.
The MCE added that the current peaceful atmosphere is essential for socio-economic growth, stressing that continued peace will help curb petty crimes and allow residents to live safely while accessing education, healthcare, and other essential services.
