"My hands are clean, I have never involved myself in any of the allegations they raised against me in their letters circulating. I don't know what they mean by abuse of power, and that alleged corruption they are talking about".

Per a letter dated November 2, 2020, addressed to the Presiding Member of the Keta Municipal Assembly and signed by some twelve Assembly Members who claim to be ‘Concerned Assembly Members’ among all other things request the Presiding Member to as a matter of urgency call for an emergency General Assembly Meeting to initiate an impeachment process of the Municipal Chief Executive, Godwin Effah over what they termed as an abuse of power and some alleged corruption activities of the MCE.

This, according to Godwin Effah in an interview with Ghanadistricts.com, is a calculated attempt just to tarnish his image and to make the New Patriotic Party in Keta Constituency unpopular.

He, however, accused one Gilbert Kobla Keklie, an Assembly Member for Anlo-Afiadenyigba Dziehe Ablame Electoral Area of masterminding the whole plot as he, the assembly member has threatened to deal with him (the MCE) on a municipal assembly's platform after the assembly refused to support a request he put before the assembly.

"Gilbert Kobla Keklie has been my boy, I have sponsored his education, and have always supported him in all endeavours, until he started this blasphemy character and then we decided to pull back on his request. He once posted on an assembly platform that I am stealing money from the assembly without any evidence or facts when he was confronted by his colleagues' assembly members, so I had to post his request on the platform and later he responded that I have stepped on the tail of a lion", the MCE explained.

He stressed that "he later went round to deceive the other eleven assembly members to sign the petition he has written demanding the Presiding Member to call an emergency meeting to discuss some pertinent issues confronting the municipal assembly which I have a recording of this and will make it available when the needs arise. We are waiting for his charges, let him come to tell the public what I have done to be categorized as abusive of power and alleged corrupt act, or we treat it as a mere statement without any factuality".

Godwin Effah ceased the opportunity to reiterate to the people in the Municipality to disregard the statement issued on the selfish interest of Gilbert Kobla Keklie. We will not be distracted, we are focused and determined to work tirelessly to develop the Keta Municipal Assembly.

Mr. Godwin Effah then called on the people in his Constituency to reward the NPP government in the upcoming general elections over the massive development choked in the area under the leadership of Nana Akufo-Addo.
